Our professionals are intimately familiar with federal agriculture policy. They include former senior congressional aides, federal agency officials, and trade association representatives. This collection of talent and experience enables us to successfully help our clients with funding for agriculture research, labeling policy, environmental and regulatory issues, antitrust, tax and international trade, and other food-related policy issues. Our long history of working on agriculture policy means that our professionals maintain close working relationships with the federal policy makers who drive agriculture legislation and regulation, including Members and staff of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees.

In recent years, we have:

• Successfully guided a major meat processor through a massive USDA recall;
• Successfully worked with Congress and the FDA on labeling and nutrition issues impacting the cranberry industry;
• Helped a fruit cooperative fend off international trade retaliation efforts undertaken by the EU and Canada, and secured key conservation, nutrition, trade and research provisions for the specialty crop industry in the past two Farm Bills;
• Guided a private sector coalition effort to develop self-imposed food safety standards and certification methods;
• Assisted our clients with Farm Bill implementation issues;
• Assisted in obtaining agriculture appropriations and Section 32 funds to mitigate oversupply situations; and,
• Helped our clients build relationships with a host of federal agencies with interests in agriculture and food, including the USDA, Environmental Protection Agency, Food and Drug Administration, and the Department of Defense.
