Founder, Executive Chairman and CEO

Washingtonian Magazine has called Gerald Cassidy the “master builder” and for more than 35 years he has guided the growth and success of Cassidy & Associates, one of Washington’s most powerful and effective government relations and public affairs firms. Consistently ranked by publications like Forbes as a premier business leader, Mr. Cassidy, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Cassidy & Associates, has been recognized by The Washington Post and The New York Times for his innovations in government affairs and bipartisan team building that became a model for other firms. After founding Cassidy & Associates in 1975, he pioneered the integrated government, public affairs and public relations campaign. He inspired the founding of a polling firm, a grassroots lobbying firm and the public relations firm Powell Tate.

Throughout Mr. Cassidy’s work on behalf of clients and his leadership of Cassidy & Associates, he has emphasized that being effective in the nation’s capitol requires integrity, industry expertise, well crafted messages, passion for a client’s issues and strong relationships. Today, Cassidy & Associates’ bipartisan team of professionals, with expertise in all industry sectors, reflect those values and Mr. Cassidy’s own commitment to client service, discipline, hard work and a pride in their profession.

Prior to the founding of Cassidy & Associates, Mr. Cassidy served as a Trial Attorney in the South Florida Migrant Legal Services Program, as Executive Director and General Counsel of the Democratic National Committee’s Party Reform Commission, and as General Counsel of the U.S. Senate's Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs. He has been a featured speaker on legislative issues, government and politics at numerous governmental, university, industry and trade association conferences. Mr. Cassidy is a Director of the Fudan Foundation, an organization he helped create in the late 1980's. The Foundation has provided over $10 Million to Fudan University in support of its Center for American Studies, China's leading academic center promoting U.S./China understanding and friendship.

“Leadership in business requires persistence, endurance, innovation and teamwork.”
